Lorry McDonald is an avid spinner!

Q: How did you get into the fiber arts and what are your areas of interest?

A:  We have always been a crafty family so fiber arts just comes naturally. I love to spin, felt and dye.

Q: What do you like about your fiber art interests? (i.e. processes, materials, etc.)

A:  The variety!! So many wools and silks and types of fiber. Did I mention that I love Sheep?

Q: What inspires you?

A:  Nature and color.

Q: Have you taken any classes, seminars, attended conferences or been mentored by other fiber artists? If so, please explain.

A: Yes, classes everywhere I can find them. (felting, spinning, about
sheep).   I will be attending the Master Spinner Courses offered by Olds Colleges in Davis OK. this October.
  It is a college level fiber course that includes all aspects of fiber processing.

Q: Where do you see your work going in the future?

A: Hoping to sell hand spun yarns, dyed and natural rovings from my Icelandic Sheep.


 

 

        

Q: Do you sell your work? If so, what are your outlets for sales?

A: Yes, I attend a few fair throughout the summer, sales from my web-site
and just started participating in Creative Hand.
