Gadget Website month
Each person coming to guild that night to show and tell a handy gadget or
helpful hint they use in their fiber arts.  Or some special tricks they use
to get the job done more efficiently.  Or if they have a special website

 CREATIVE HAND:

This year's 25th annual Creative Hand show will be Friday, November 16, 4-9 and Saturday, November 17, 10-5 at the Sylvester Powell Community Center NE corner of Lamar and Martway in Mission, KS.  We have 36 artists participating this year and the excitement is building as we prepare for a wonderful show.  We have lots of "new looks" in the works: Color postcard invitation, runway Fashion Show on Friday at 7:00, Demonstrations all day Saturday, Front Room Features of the show, and a new look to the display of our beautiful textile treats.  At the Guild meetings, we will have sign-up lists if you want to help at the show.  We can always use extra hands for working the floor and demonstrations.  Please call if you have any questions.

Westport Art Fair
Attended the Westport Art Fair this weekend and we had four artists from our guild participating in this years show: Jean Hartley, Sandy Cahill Lauri Mellenbach and Marci Blank were there with their colorful and creative Fiber work and Jewelry. Congrats ladies on participating in this local art fair featuring some cool stuff this year! If you are reading this on Sunday you still have today to check out this art fair!

From the Editor....
Not fiber related but could be of good source material for your future fiber works... attend the Nelson Gallery and see the new Bloch Building. It is an incredible place to take a few hours or a few minutes to walk around and see what you want to see, old and new.... Check it out!

Hard to believe that fall is around the corner. This month take some time to think about what you would like to learn about and who we can use as a resource of someone who could come to the guild and do a program on some fiber related topic. I believe that you get free dues for the next year if you give a program. Peggy has done an excellent job being our planner (and presenter) this year and we have to help her out and think of some new ideas, maybe something that has been done in the last couple of years.... think, use those creative thinking caps and help us make YOUR guild a great place to get resources, make new fiber friends and learn new techniques!

Along the same lines, we have lots and lots of space to fill up in YOUR newsletter for ads of things to buy and sell, it is FREE!
Events listing coming up,,,,FREE!!!!

Just click on spindeb@aol.com and send me your news, ads, event coming up, etc...
I would rather have them in email form. It is just easier for me.
Plant some bulbs now for a colorful surprise in the spring & have a  great September!
