Overland Park, Kansas – November 19 & 20, 2010 – In a time of economic troubles, we all want to ensure that the dollars we spend are wisely invested in high quality and well made products. For the past 28 years, buyers in the Kansas City Area have been afforded a unique opportunity to buy top quality hand made gifts, art, and wearable items from our community’s very best artists and craftsmen. This yearly event sponsored by the Kansas City Fiber Guild and Weavers’ Guild will amaze and inspire viewers and buyers with an array of artistically created handmade originals. Products will be displayed in a friendly boutique setting with many artists on hand to visit with and answer your specific questions. Attendees to the show can expect to find the always popular wearable items such as garments, hats, scarves, and items for baby. In addition, an amazing variety of well executed wall art pieces, rugs, and three dimensional fiber sculptures will be available. Other non fiber gift items will include pottery, art cards, handmade soaps, jewelry, and other eye catching pieces. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s sale will benefit two worthy organizations. The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF), www.craftemergency.org, that benefits artists in need nationally, and Heifer International, www.heifer.org, that provides wool-producing animals for families in need. Be sure to attend the Fashion Show on Friday, November 19th at 7 pm and then come back on Saturday, November 20th to watch various fiber art demonstrations including spinning, knitting, crocheting, weaving, and needle felting. Event Information The Creative Hand Show and Sale will be held at the Ramada Inn (located on the West side of Metcalf & the North side of Shawnee Mission Parkway) at 7420 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Overland Park, Kansas. Hours for the event are Friday, November 19, 4 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, November 20, 10 am to 5 pm.
